Remote Laboratory of Automatic Control

HOME

The training in disciplines of a technological nature, especially in industrial environments, joins its usual degree of difficulty, the need to study equipment and complex industrial facilities, being necessary to have very expensive equipment.

The development of technological platforms that allow remote access to this type of facilities through the Internet facilitates not only access, but also greater flexibility in terms of training strategies and, of course, the availability of such equipment. In addition, it is increasingly evident that emerging technologies associated with the Internet are having a greater weight in those aspects linked to continuous training / self-training.

The SUPPRESS Research Group (Supervision, Automation and Control) of the University of León provides and offers sufficient know-how to third parties to implement technological platforms that allow access to physical systems: pilot plants, industrial process models, robots, home automation panels, electric and pneumatic drives, monitoring systems, etc. via Internet.

From the academic point of view, this type of system becomes a powerful tool not only for practical teaching and learning, but also in theoretical expositions. With a network socket and a computer, these systems allow their continuous use in theoretical expositions, and also facilitate the interaction of students on real systems while they are receiving theoretical training.

In this web a service of learning of the automatic one of remote form through Internet is offered. Students, teachers, and users in general can interact with the physical systems of the laboratory, performing experiences such as, for example, PID control practices on pilot plants with real industrial instrumentation, configuration and programming of programmable logic controllers, process supervision, etc.
